Executive Coaching and Training
Pioneer Executive Coaching & Training is a Kansas City-based company that specializes in building professional effectiveness through:
The Pioneer approach is differentiated by
its interactive use of historical case studies
and stories. In the Power Leadership Series, for instance, participants develop leadership skills by analyzing history's most compelling leaders, such as Ferdinand Magellan, Ernest Shackleton, and Coco Chanel - and linking learning back to their own 21st century roles and challenges.
All leadership training, coaching, and speaking services at Pioneer are built around three premises:
1) Awareness precedes change. To build the awareness that triggers change, a coaching methodology is built into all of the services offered at Pioneer. Clients learn to question assumptions and behavioral patterns around leadership, and to discover their own reason to change.
2) You learn when you are interested. Corporate learning and development activities are often endured, rather than enjoyed. The most memorable and lasting learning, however, happens when participants are genuinely interested. Pioneer services are engaging and interactive, including training that builds leadership skills by analyzing the stories of some of history's most intriguing characters.
3) Your potential lies in your strengths. Most of us underestimate our abilities, intelligence, and natural awareness. The Pioneer approach focuses on the positive, by helping clients to understand and build on their strengths and successes - rather than on ‘fixing problems’.
I have worked for almost fifteen years in learning and development roles internationally, and have traveled to about seventy countries.
With this diverse background, I bring a unique and creative perspective to the coaching and training services that I offer. For instance, my love of travel has led to an enduring interest in the great explorers of history - which I have used as a platform for several of my leadership seminars.
Along my path, I've learned that just as every culture has unique aspects barely noticed by the people living there, the same is true for individuals. I find this fascinating, and am driven to help people better understand themselves and how they interact with others.
I have a B.A. in History, an M.A. in International Relations, and a Graduate Master's Certificate in Executive & Professional Coaching. I also belong to the American Society for Training & Development and the International Coach Federation.
