Pioneer uses storytelling elements in all leadership training, for the simple reason that it works. Imagine leaders learning to influence effectively while tracing polar explorer Ernest Shackleton’s snowy footsteps as he leads his team across Antarctica, to overcome the challenges of cross-cultural leadership while circumnavigating the globe with Ferdinand Magellan, or to build personal authority while riding with Alexander the Great through the mountains of Persia.
Storytelling-style training allows participants to move beyond the “what” and “how” that most training covers, to find a reason why they should change their behavior. In essence, it takes advantage of vicarious learning. Participants first learn from others' challenges and successes - and then apply that learning to their own unique circumstances.
